Sound Design

Making your soundscape unique and interesting is what AudioSFX is all about. Everybody has the same tired CD libraries of sound effects, which are useful for fast turnaround, low-budget, get-it-done-now applications. But at AudioSFX, we pride ourselves on giving your project a fresh and different approach. We like recording custom backgrounds and new raw sound materials for every project. Our full complement of sound mangling devices include samplers, synthesizers, software packages and plug-ins, and high-quality outboard signal processors.

Music Composition

The principle composers at AudioSFX have a combined total of 25 years musical performance and over a dozen albums of our music recorded and distributed. We specialize in different areas, guaranteeing the right musical approach for your needs.

Voiceover & ADR

AudioSFX offers voice recording for any project. Our high quality microphones and preamps, excellent room acoustics, and experience in dialog recording and editing makes AudioSFX your facility of choice.

Whether you have a quick voiceover session or ADR for a feature film, we can track, cut, and deliver it in any format your project requires.

AudioSFX has experienced in-house engineers voice directors, plus a rolodex of voiceover talent to choose from.

Whether you have the voice talent and director in mind, or you come prepared with only a script in-hand, we can deliver high quality dialog recording for any project.

Remote Multi-track Recording

With the advent of digital recording systems, AudioSFX has found it adventageous to provide affordable remote multi-track recording.

In addition to high quality stereo recording, we offer fully portable Pro Tools systems, capable of recording 24 tracks at 24-bit/96kHz resolution. We offer a full complement of microphones, stands, cabling, and preamplification to allow a complex, multi-instrumental group to be captured the way they play best -- live.

Stereo & Multi-channel Mixing

There is a reason that AudioSFX has been involved in so many projects: our extensive knowledge of audio formats, sound design, dialog, and music makes for an ideal one-stop shop.

We have mixed all kinds of projects, from live action feature films to video games (both in-game portions and cutscenes), as well as stereo and surround music for theatrical and home listening.

Delivery formats have included print masters for Dolby Digital encoding, low-resolution videogame effects, DTS-encoded 5.1 music masters, and more!

Foley

AudioSFX offers full service foley recording. Our foley has been used for Academy Award- and Golden Globe-winning feature films, such as Sony Pictures' Adaptation. We have worked with seasoned foley artists such as Marnie Moore and Leslie Bloome, providing high quality work at a fraction of the cost of the larger facilities.

Field Recording

AudioSFX's sound designers pride themselves in providing the highesty quality product available. This concept extends to the originality of our work, so we collect new source material for use with each project.

AudioSFX will go to the appropriate sources and retrieve new and original recordings. Don't settle for tired sound effects libraries!

Acoustical, Multi-channel, & Pro Tools Consulting

AudioSFX's William Storkson is a THX- and Dolby-certified consultant, and an expert in acoustics and multi-channel systems. He has calibrated hundreds of theatres for the world premiere of Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and done extensive research into room acoustics and multi-channel architectures.

The audio world is moving rapdily into 5.1 surround sound. If you are ready to go there, but don't have the expertise on hand, call AudioSFX. We can analyze, specify, install, calibrate, and turn your stereo environment into a 5.1 surround room within your time and budget constraints.

Evolving in surround sound can be a difficult and thorny proposition, but AudioSFX can help eliminate the confusion and get you up and running quickly and reliably.

In addition, we offer Pro Tools consulting to help you learn this industry standard digital audio workstation. If you are interested in music or film sound and don't have the time to grind your way through the manuals, let us help configure your system and teach you the ropes. 5.1 Film & Music

AudioSFX specializes in surround film & music. We have in-house Dolby Digital & DTS encoding, 2 Multi-channel mixing suites with different monitors in each, and DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, & DTS-CD playback.

Our project history includes 5.1 film mixes in-house and at other facilities, optical print mastering for Dolby Digital encodes, and 5.1 music mixing, both for previously released albums and new projects.

AudioSFX can also provide DVD authoring, THX system calibration, and Surround consulting.
